Step 1 Attach the FEMALE clamp to the parting flange allowing enough space to mould around between the pattern and the clamp, approx 35mm for an M8. Cover the head of the screw with some plastercine to aid removal when complete. Continue the process around the parting flange leaving a suitable gap between each Clamp, 200 mm for the M8 Clamp.

The application of the Gelcoat, the glass tissue and the first layer of chopped strand mat. -
Step 3 The final layers of chopped strand mat using zero shrinkage tooling resin. The excess material on top of the GRP Mould Clamp is sanded off and the original screw holding the Clamp in place is removed.

Step 4 Once the parting flange is removed the FEMALE GRP Mould Clamps are now visibly moulded into flange of the mould.

Step 5 After the release agent has been applied to the newly made "lower" mould the MALE GRP Mould Clamp is bolted into the female GRP Mould Clamp

Step 6 Some plastercine is formed over the bolt to aid its release once the mould is complete. The mould making process is then repeated with the application of the gelcoat, glass tissue, first layer of chopped strand mat and the final layers of glass and zero shrinkage tooling resin.

Step 7 Once the mould is complete the overrun is trimmed off, any material covering the bolt head is removed, then the bolts are removed and the mould is released from the pattern. It is then prepared with release agent and made availabe for production.

Step 8 The end result, a perfectly aligned split mould with minimal flashing that can be removed with a small air driven hand buffer.
